Swimmming

This term we started doing swimming.first we learned to get in the pool.After some people throw the rings and we had to swim under water and get the rings.I found swimming easy because I already know how to swim.It was a little bit hard to see under water because I had no goggles.When you first get in you feel cold then when your in the pool for a little bit longer you feel warm.

Summarising The Dragon who had Measles

For reading we have been learning to summarise the text.We have done this by using the who,what,where,when,why and how questions.The book we were reading was called The Dragon who had Measles,it was about the Dragon who had Measles.

I found it easy to type on the computer.

I found it hard to write a little bit.

Next time I need to know the things with out the book.

Postcard

In writing we have been learning to think about the writers point of view.We are reading the book 'The Faraway Tree' by Enid Blyton in class.The book is about a little girl called Connie whose mother is ill so she is sent to live with her Mothers friend and her children Jo,Bessie and Franny.The children show her the Faraway tree and to begin with she doesn't believe them.

We have been talking about how Connie might have felt and what she would have said to her mother.We decided to write a post card from Connie to her Mother,trying to think about what Connie would say.

I found nothing hard and it was easy.

I found it easy to type on the computer.

Next time I need to work on doing it faster.  

Story Telling

During our Te Tuhi workshop 'Creative Stories' we learnt about the different ways a story can be told.we explored our story 'The Lorax through role play and then created our own poster.

I found it hard to cut the drawings out.

I found it easy to draw on the paper .

Next time I need to work on drawing much more better.

Volume Challenge

For maths week, we have been learning about measurement.Yesterday we talked about volume.We learnt that to work out the volume of a shape you use length x width x height. Out challenge was to work in pairs and use the unlink cubes to make as many different creations as we could, with a volume of 8.

I found it easy to add the length ,width and height.

I found it hard to make different creations in the blocks.

Next time I need to work on making more creations.

Blended Giraffe

I had to practice using different line and blending techniques to create a realistic looking giraffe. I found it easy to follow the teachers instructions to create the giraffe shape. It was difficult to keep all the parts in perspective. Next time I will try harder to use blending to show dark and light.

The Daintree Forest

For reading I was to identify what the author wanted me to feel, think or see.

We read a book that was called the Daintree Forest and after that we had to convince people to agree with us that to save the Daintree Forest.  We made a kind of poster to convince people in Australia to stop the people who are cutting down the trees and making hotels and carnivals.

I felt it was hard to upload the relevant pictures to show our ideas.

Next time we could add more facts to help show our opinion.

Solving Fraction Problems

I was learning to solve fraction problems using addition and multiplication strategies.  We had to use kidpix to show how we solved our problems.  I found it easy because fractions.  One thing I did well was doing the first equation because about five times tables and I am good at five times tables.  Next time I will try harder problems.
